What, if any, are your thoughts on this particular small region of the Europe?

  1. I’m sorry if this is inappropriate but the one thing that will always stick in my mind from my visit to Manchester in 2022 was being out in the city at 1am on a freezing cold, rainy November night and seeing young women walking around in short skirts and sleeveless dresses completely unfazed by the weather while a big 6’2 86kg man of myself was wrapped up in 5 layers and still freezing my balls off.

It makes me wonder how they dress in the summer.

  2. Scallystan

and those Harlan Coben shows on Netflix always being filmed there

  3. I grew up there. It’s full of the best people, the best pubs, amazing history and beautiful countryside. Mind you, I ran off at 18 so what do I know.

  4. I live there. There’s amazing history all over the region (Manchester and Chester are Roman) and some beautiful countryside in Cheshire and Lancashire, and the Peak District. Some places are a little downtrodden now (Bolton etc) but both Liverpool and Manchester are booming.

The more countryside areas and Cheshire are also very affluent.

Definitely worth a visit to Liverpool, Manchester and Chester, plus the Peak District and West Pennine Moors.

  5. An underrated region of Europe. The beginning of the Industrial Revolution. Home to some of the greatest bands like the Beatles and oasis. Home to two of the most popular sports teams on earth. All
While maintaining its working class culture and perception.

  6. I lived in Manchester near Man City stadium and it was the best experience in my life: a walkable city, nearly the latest tech to buy, 2h delivery from Amazon, nightlife especially at weekends, sometimes a big concert on Man City stadium or local gigs. I was walking or cycling nearby. I started to play tennis during my stay over there. The highway is very close so 3h to Glasgow, or 4h to London or 3h to York, it’s probably the best place to live in the UK. You also have 3 airports: Manchester, Liverpool and Doncaster.

  7. Far too southern to be known as The North^(tm) in this particular island. Like, what is the massive stretch of land between here and Scotland supposed to do??? smh

  8. I live in a village near Warrington.

Honestly? Don’t think I could live anywhere else in the UK. So much going on and you have so much nearby. People are friendly and you have both a major airport and some great scenery very close.
