MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player started her Tashkent campaign with a confident 6-1, 6-2 victory over Russia’s Sofiia Suslova in the first round, and today, on 30 October, she booked her spot in the quarterfinals by seeing off another Russian, Ekaterina Tupitsyna, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1, BelTA has learned.

The 21-year-old from Minsk is now on a 12-match winning streak. A place in the semifinals will be on the line tomorrow, on 31 October, when she takes on Lithuania’s Laima Vladson. This season, Khomutianskaya has clinched four titles, raising her overall career tally to five.

The tournament in the capital of Uzbekistan will conclude on 2 November.
