  1. >We’ve all offered our opinions. One that continues to bubble up is the ‘a single year exceeding 1.5°C of warming does not mean that the Paris Agreement has failed’. This provides as much reassurance as the captain of the Titanic telling passengers that there is an important difference between ‘sinking’ and ‘sunk’. It’s not that they are wrong, it’s just beside the point.

  2. The five-year average criterion is a reasonable way to reduce overreaction and response to noise. However, the data is trending so strongly that no reasonable person could look at the yearly data and believe we haven’t passed 1.5C.

Just as warming and consequences are accelerating, Gates opines that climate is changing slow so it doesn’t matter to “us” and all this cool future technology will solve it without impacting [Gates’] lifestyle in the meantime.

Ask Jamaica what they think of this? Among many other things, the increasingly rapid intensification of hurricanes is almost certainly linked to climate change.

  3. Normal people didn’t underestimate it, the “leaders” did.

  4. We haven’t underestimated, the so called elites just chose greed over humanity…

  5. Billionaires won’t get a ROI for their bunkers if society doesn’t collapse, so…maybe just ignore the data?

  6. I mean the Oil companies knew what the risks were back in the 70s…
