TYRFING called at Cartegena in Spain, as they could see that they could neither reach Setubal nor Vigo with the current stock of fuel. The ship cannot charge on the trip, so the voyage takes place on electricity made by the ship’s generators on marine diesel.

With a stop over in Carthagana and with subsequent slow sailing towards Gibraltar, the crew waits for the waves to calm down a bit – and then head for Vigo as soon as possible.

Vigo will still be a bunker port and “shelter port” from which the sailing across the Bay of Biscay is planned.

A stop in Cartegena was not part of the plan for the return trip – but it is still the plan that TYRFING will take a trip around the shipyard in Svendborg on its return to Denmark to be fully prepared for operation from 1 December 2025.
