  1. >Kallas expresses worry about the state of the global order. “I think international law is under heavy fire, if we look at what is happening in the world,” she says. “We have the United Nations Charter that says that you can’t attack another country, you can’t attack the sovereignty or territorial integrity of another country. But yet here we are. We have many conflicts, many wars around the world. And international law is something that is really protecting the smaller countries, so that their big neighbours don’t make a step towards them. And the majority of the world’s countries are small countries. So if you think this doesn’t concern you right now, then it’s just a matter of time. So we really need to preserve this world order where might does not make right.”

Lol good luck when the President of the United States is one of those scum who think might makes right and spends all his time attacking the sovereignty of smaller countries.

    >Is she worried about the US retreat from its traditional global role under the Trump presidency, particularly when it comes to development aid? “If we look at the bigger picture, it is clear that United States has withdrawn its help, and all the countries in the world are behind our doors asking us to fill the void,” Kallas replies. “It’s clear that our taxpayers can’t do that. We have many places where we are the biggest humanitarian aid donor. But there are a lot of rich countries around the world who should also shoulder the burden. So, clearly, we are trying to do our share, but we can’t fill the void that America is leaving behind.”

Where’s these other rich countries outside Europe? Does Kaja think Saudi Arabia is gonna start becoming a leader in humanitarian aid? Lmao

The “international law” was under fire when [Reagan ordered the mining of Nicaraguan harbors](https://www.upi.com/Archives/1984/05/10/World-court-rules-against-US-over-Nicaragua-mining/7873453009600/) or when George W. Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq under false pretenses, to mention just a few incidents. What she is truly lamenting is that her country has lost the free and unconditional defense umbrella that a global bully used to provide.

I guess the “garden” might turn into a jungle.

  3. What international law? When the EU supports Israeli atrocities and crimes against humanity?

When the US vetos UN resolutions? When it threatens the ICC or sanctions UN officials?

America and the EU have seen to it that international law is effectively dead.

  4. The same person that talk about how China is socialy inept and Russia technology inept is crying over some country undermining “International Law” but when they did it that “International Law” suddenly not exist.

  5. International law was destroyed when USA invaded Vietnam and didn’t get punished, anyone who care about international law need to acknowledge that USA is the biggest threat to it and the main reason no one really care about it, a law that is not applied to everyone equally is useless. The next test is what will happen when USA start bombing Venezuela. But I don’t think European will have anything to say about it.

Sometimes I wonder what the world in general will look like if the Nazi won WW2, because I am sure as shit that my country couldn’t be worse.

  6. So many commenters on here have no clue about how bad things were before the U.S. and the western powers established the current world order. Consequently, they have no concept of how quickly things will deteriorate, and how dire matters will become when it ends.

  7. I don’t blame her for grieving. The U.S. won’t be around to shatter international law for Europe whenever it becomes inconvenient.

We effectively have one political party right now. That alone makes us horrifically dangerous.

Also Reddit is a pretty innacurate view of American sentiment. People here were genuinely convinced Kamala would win. That wasn’t a widely held belief in most places outside of internet left spaces.

This is not something going away anytime soon.
