SMU moves to 4-1 in ACC play to stay in the hunt for the conference title while the Canes drop to 6-2 overall, 2-2 in ACC and their playoff hopes take a huge hit.

Miami DE Marquise Lightfoot’s late hit gave SMU a first down when it was about to face a 4th-and-9 for the ballgame. Huge mistake gives the Mustangs new life.

The ensuing onside kick was bobbled and Vanderbilt had a chance at recovering it, but it went out of bounds before anybody could corral it and the Longhorns win.

What an incredible finish.

The Commodores have cut into Texas’ lead after a frantic drive ended in a TD pass from Diego Pavia to Richie Hoskins. That’s 21 fourth-quarter points from Vandy, and an onside kick to come.

The Dores are still alive for the time being but they’re short on time. They’re now past midfield with 1:30 remaining in the game. Still down 10.

The SMU defense got the stop it needed and gets the ball back with 2:10 to play, trailing by 3. No timeouts for the Mustangs on this last-gasp drive.

The Nittany Lions made it a game for a half before the Buckeyes buckled down defensively and caught fire through the air. Julian Sayin was otherworldly in the win, going 20 for 23 with 316 yards and 4 TDs.

Sam Keltner’s 42-yard attempt just leaked right of the upright and Miami maintains the 20-17 lead with 6:24 to play.

Well that makes things a little interesting. Diego Pavia just hit a wide-open Eli Stowers for a 67-yard touchdown. They went for 2 and barely got in on a goal line stretch.

Texas 34, Vandy 24

That’s about the only thing that hasn’t gone Texas’ way offensively in this game. They appeared to have another long TD pass from Arch Manning to Emmett Mosley, but it was overturned after review and then kicker Mason Shipley sailed the kick wide right.
