Ukrainian Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal has held a meeting with a NATO delegation led by US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker, who is on his first visit to Ukraine.

Details: Shmyhal said the meeting focused on innovation and “protecting Ukrainian airspace from enemy drones and missiles”, particularly during the winter.

“We emphasised to colleagues the priority of air defence and building layered protection: air defence missiles, interceptor drones and radars,” he tweeted.
Shmyhal also thanked the ambassadors of NATO member states for their support for Ukraine amid Russia’s full-scale invasion and their active participation in the Prioritised Ukraine Requirement List (PURL) initiative for financing US weapons for Kyiv.
