I was in a Chinese restaurant in Los Angeles one time and looked up and realised Hopkins and his wife were at the next table. The waitress told me that they were mean tippers. Seemed slightly odd to see a famous face in real life and not on the screen.
I virtually never tip. Going out is expensive enough to make it a rarity anyway. Plus they add 12.5% without asking and you have to make a fuss to take it off (which I never do).
I met him once and he GLOWED. Can’t describe it any other way.
His parents used to own The Ship Inn Caerleon.
Mad to think he went to West Mon in Pontypool.
I once cooked for him when i was a chef, very lovely man
