A Defining Day in the Islamic Revolution
Speaking to Taghrib News Agency(TNA) on the occasion of the 13th of Aban, Mamusta Fadakar described the day as a lasting and instructive moment in the history of the Islamic Revolution. He noted that on this day, the Iranian people demonstrated their resistance and awareness across three critical historical junctures.
Three Milestones of Resistance
He recalled the events of this day: In 1964, the oppressive Pahlavi regime, under orders from its American patrons, arrested Imam Khomeini in Qom and exiled him to Turkey. In 1978, on the same date, faithful and revolutionary students took to the streets in protest against U.S. interference in Iran and were martyred by the Shah’s forces. Finally, in 1979, Muslim students loyal to Imam Khomeini stormed the U.S. embassy, exposing the true face of global arrogance.
A Symbol of Religious and Political Honor
Mamusta Fadakar emphasized that this revolutionary act was an expression of the Iranian nation’s religious and political dignity. He reiterated that the embassy takeover was not just a political maneuver, but a turning point in the nation’s awakening and self-belief, echoing Imam Khomeini’s description of it as Iran’s “Second Revolution.”
National Recognition and Ongoing Responsibility
He noted that the Iranian Parliament, recognizing the significance of this day, designated it as the “National Day of Confronting Global Arrogance,” to remind current and future generations that the Iranian people will never surrender their independence and honor to arrogant powers.
Mamusta Fadakar added that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic consistently emphasizes the need to recognize the ugly face of arrogance, stating that many regional and global problems stem from the interference and greed of dominant powers. Therefore, it is our duty to keep alive the anti-arrogance ideology of Imam Khomeini and the martyrs.
A Living Message of Dignity and Resistance
He concluded by saying that the 13th of Aban is not merely a historical date, but a school of thought rooted in steadfastness, faith, and dignity. It commemorates the bravery of martyred students and revolutionary youth who chose Islamic honor over the humiliation of dependency.
The message of this day, he said, is clear for the Iranian people and all freedom-seekers around the world: we must bow only before the Lord of the Worlds—not before the hollow powers of this world. As the Iranian nation has shown through its faith and independence, the era of global arrogance has come to an end.
