Dutch centrist D66 party wins big in election as far right loses support • FRANCE 24 English

The big winner of this Dutch election is 38-year-old Rob Yetton with his center-left party D66. A pro- European, his popularity skyrocketed in the final stretch of the election. His message was full of optimism and his strong media presence resonated with the Dutch people. This is an historic election result because we’ve shown not only to the Netherlands but also to the world that it is possible to beat populist and extreme right movements. and I’m very eager to uh cooperate with other parties. The campaign focused mainly on immigration and the housing crisis which particularly affects young people in this densely populated country. It’s a disappointing night for the farright leader who topped the polls in 2023. It is a significant loss, but we are still a large party. I’m sure we can find a way up next time. It was Garrett Vilders himself who triggered these early elections. He withdrew his party from a fragile four-party coalition for not being tough enough on immigration, which brought down the outgoing government. His score in this election is being closely scrutinized across Europe and serves as a barometer of the strength of the far right across the

In the Netherlands, the centrist D66 party looks on course to beat the far right in the national election. Exit polls have predicted Rob Jetten’s party will claim victory, which could lead him to become the country’s youngest ever prime minister. Dutch far-right leader Geert Wilders who had come first in the last elections in 2023 said he was disappointed about his Freedom Party’s result. Meanwhile the leader of the left-wing Dutch Greens Labour party stood down after a disappointing result.

  1. Some details not mentioned in the video:
    – PVV / Wilders 'withdrew his party' because HIS OWN minister of immigration wasn't doing her job, but still blamed the other parties
    – The other parties constantly pointed out how he didn't actually seem all that interested in doing anything, besides just keep screaming about foreigners etc, he didn't have any actual plan to 'deal' with them, he was the biggest so he was totally able to try push whatever 'solution' he wanted, but he didn't even try, he just leaned back and did nothing…
    – Eventually he withdrew his party after giving a list of rather bizarre ultimatums, which were quite Russian.. 🤷‍♂🤣

The above 3 things combined have thankfully resulted in enough people noticing that he does not care for the country at all and very much IS a Russian puppet that just wants to destroy things. Other "right wing" parties have grown from his loss & this is generally seen as a positive by everyone, even when "extreme right" was being so weirdly toxic lately.

  2. No the nationalists got more seats in this election 2025 in total. Bec Ja21 went up from 1 to 9 seats ans PvD from 3 to 7 seats

  3. Wilders😅😅😅 actually never lost more votes but actually gain more seeing the votes even wilders will wait & see the show….. 😂😂😂😊

  4. The left imaginary win just trying to make look like they're doing good D66 has 26 seats pvv has 26 seats other right-wing groups ja21 gained 8 seats and fvd gain 4 seats the far right is fragmented they need to unite under one party the left will destroy the Netherlands immigrants raping children stealing causing crime abusing social services wait till the next French election the far-right will win the next German election the ADF will win the Austrian freedom party will win the English reform party will win and then it will be time for Mass deportation haha

  5. I hope every person who voted for this is directly impacted and feels the full force of the Islamic takeover heading their way.
