  1. Really, what, nobody wanted to scan their ID and face onto a site before typing their lewd desires onto a site known for unscrupulous practices? Never, who would have guessed?

  2. I’ve had to jerk off the Argos catalogue since the OSA came into effect.

  3. Prohibition leads to black markets?

If only we had a history of this behaviour we could track and learn from.

  4. There are still plenty of sites that don’t require age verification.

I am not sure how you ban them if they just decide not to.

Yes Pornhub traffic might have dropped but I am guessing other sites have increased….

  5. I would never have guessed this would happen. It was utterly unpredictable and not reasonably forseeable. /s

  6. What are these sites called a friend was wondering

  7. No surprises there then, plenty of alternatives or for those who are desperate for PH then VPN access. Utterly ridiculous that they thought this would “save the children”

  8. It was an incredibly stupid piece of legislation and I predicted all of this in the letter I sent to my MP. Unfortunately our parliament simply doesn’t have the appropriate skills to make this kind of decision and they simply didn’t want to listen to people who did.

  9. The surge in unregulated adult sites is entirely down to Ofcom publishing the list of sites they’ve challenged for not having age verification.

Ofcom – biggest peddlers of porn to kids.Who’d have thought

  10. Paper-shop owners, get those top shelves filled

Bit of blue, bit of blue

  11. Literally everyone said this would happen. Politicians are so utterly out of touch with modern day life that they couldn’t see something as simple as this being the consequences of their actions .

Can they just focus on tackling the issues that the public elected them to do ? The public does not give two shits about porn sites and ID, we just want our food and electric prices to be reasonable

  12. And just like that, in a return to former glory DVD burning became popular again ….
    😁

  13. But the traffic from other countries has increased slightly, along with a similar growth of VPN users in the UK, I shouldn’t wonder.

  14. This article is massively reaching.

I’ve never really bothered much with the “big three” porn sites, and there’s *loads* of decent sites out there that –

    a) do not care about verification so simply don’t bother

    and

    b) show perfectly legal and fairly vanilla material.

In all my years of browsing porn, both pre and post Online Safety Act, I’ve hardly seen *any* violent porn, and have *never* seen anything illegal, as in, underage people.

Screams of moral panic just because the ridiculous law isn’t working, at all.

  15. In a strange but totally expected coincidence traffic in other parts of the world grew by 80%

Im writing this from Venezuela ……. 😉

  16. The irony in my country.

    A vocal group hates foreigners.

Pretend to be a foreigner to access porn via VPN.

  17. Xhamster had my fizzog on day one. Love wanking I do.
