  13. Why can’t we just categorically tell these people we’ll take them in, but any crimes they commit and they forfeit their rights to human rights here and they’re gone.

    News will always focus on the worst , and there’s obviously more that aren’t criminals, but it’s clearly enough of them

  17. Christ, this country is so broken right now, and I’m starting to think the damage is unrepairable. It’s just one blunder and scandal after enough, it’s relentless. Even the most basic public services, like keeping prisoners under supervision, seem beyond the abilities of the authorities.

    Is it lack of funding? Not hiring the best people? Insufficient training? It’s beyond satire at this point.
