Neat! I’m sure there’s a good reason for the long shutdowns. (making billionaires trillionaires to own the libs)
people tell me all the time i have THE BEST shutdowns. they’re yuge. people love them.
Now he can say he beat Obama
You might want to consider stacking EVERY shutdown against Trump’s shutdowns.
49 days versus 75 days and counting. It feels likely that the current shutdown alone will be longer than all other shutdowns combined.
Good luck traveling for Thanksgiving evening.
Vote for stupid presidents, win stupid prizes
With his party in control of Congress.
“If there is a shutdown … I think it would be a tremendously negative mark on the president of the United States. He’s the one that has to get people together.”
Donald Trump
You don’t need a congress when the intent is to rule by fiat.
Don’t misunderestimate Donald Trump’s “genius”
And Clinton’s was a split government.
And…he golfs more than any president in history.
And should be added chances are pretty good this will not be the last shutdown under Trump. I expect he will continue to gain more share of total shutdown days during his time in office.
Newt Gingrich is still active too

Why are shutdowns such a common thing in the USA?
Release the Epstein files
Canada did it for 5 months straight from Jan to May, no one cared
A govt shutdown is a congressional failure – specifically, the Senate.
However, while responsibility falls on the GOP, who controlled Congress during both those times, it is important to note that:
– the president has a bit of soft / indirect influence,
– Trump *has* been president for the two biggest ones, and
– in this instance, Trump has accumulated a huge amount of power within the GOP, and is therefore as responsible as any single person has been in modern US history for a party’s failures
As of today, 4.29% of his total time in office has been government shutdown. 11 more days and he’ll hit the 5% mark. Next closest is Clinton with 0.89% of his total term.
“Nobody shuts down the government like I do. They’ve never seen anything like this before. People are coming up me with tears in their eyes, saying ‘Sir, I can’t believe that you were able to do this.’ Many people are saying it’s the most beautiful government shutdown they’ve ever seen.”
What you are seeing play out are two important issues: 1. The US is disastrously in debt 2. The polarization of US politics. The data seems to show a roughly parabolic rise.
The Democrats shut down the government
This is my favorite of the three ways I’ve seen this presented. It highlights the relative dysfunctionality of government under each administration.
He probably wakes up every morning having forgotten there’s a shutdown.
It’s so funny how people love to say how we don’t need the government and they wish the government would leave them alone…. A couple days in and people were losing their shit.
Everyone in Northern Ireland: Absolute rookie numbers.
It’s so easy to run the government when you just shut the whole thing down! Everyone has always said so. It’s gonna be hyuuuuuuge.
Why don’t the republicans just put a clean CR up and let the Democrats pass that?
Trump: “I am proud to shut down the government”
You mean he already beaten the guy 2 biggest lockdown that the democrate have with the first one and manage to make it double after.
When vote for clowns 🤡 expect a circus 🎪!
Also clearly unaffected by it, whereas every other was working hard to negotiate an end to it.
Yes because its solely his responsibility. Couldn’t have anything to do with both parties.
The shutdowns under Clinton were not done by Democrats, they were done by Republicans to *punish* Clinton for having the best economic record in history and destroying the mythos of the great conservative era. It was yet another example of completely invented emergency, a common feature of Gingrich’s leadership (and guess who is behind the Heritage Foundation today still).
Wow they forgot Biden his must have been even worse and the deep state covered it up! /s
The thing is, Dump is thinking that’s “fighting”. For what and with who exactly, we don’t know. But I’m sure he’s acting like he’s doing it for the good of the nation
Just a side qustion: Do you need a legend if the bars are labeled?
Well you know his penis is… Compensating for something?
Nobody presides over government shutdowns like Donald trump, nobody
I heard he’s going for the hat trick before he’s done.
*How could Joe Biden do this?!?!?”*
Comrade Trump, captain of the monkey wrench gang, grinding the imperial core to a screeching halt. RIP America…
Not shown on the chart is Joe Biden, who despite having a Republican Congress for half of his presidency, managed to keep the government open his whole term.
Blame whomever you want, the fact is the US is broke. Decades of our descendants are already in debt thanks to these m’fers.
Still have a while to catch up to the total days Trump golfed
You do realize Congress passes funding? No you don’t , it’s Reddit where no one has a brain but everyone has hurt feelings
