We have had it so good for so long in comparison with much of the world, we are used to demanding that others get past “silly” differences of opinion. Right now, your husband is not well, and, as a clinician, he is quite dangerous with his obsession with clinical disinformation. Additionally, he is intimately intertwined with a person who is, with unanimity among scholars of every political persuasion, considered the very worst president in US history. He is also very dangerous. Your friends probably don’t know what to say, but these are all truths, not opinions. We are in a very tenuous time and your husband has no business being in the position he is in.
