Pod Save America’s Tommy Vietor unleashed a barrage of insults against Vice President JD Vance during a CNN appearance, calling him a “shameless” character unliked by both sides.

Vietor, Jon Favreau, and Dan Pfeiffer, all of whom previously worked for former President Barack Obama, of Pod Save America, joined CNN’s Dana Bash on Inside Politics on Friday and offered their takes on a number of big headlines, including one from Politico suggesting Vance will be running for president in 2028.

According to the outlet, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been privately telling others that Vance is the 2028 “frontrunner” and will have his support.

“Secretary of State Marco Rubio is privately telling confidants that JD Vance is the frontrunner for the 2028 Republican nomination and that he’d support the vice president if he chose to run, according to two people close to the administration,” Politico reported.

Vietor held nothing back when offering his thoughts on Vance, declaring that “no one likes him.”

He said:

For me, that’s terrible. No one likes him. Republicans don’t like him. Democrats don’t’ like him, it’s not clear to me that his own family enjoys his company. He will say and do anything to accumulate power. He is as shameless a person who exists in politics today. He will write op-ed linked screeds like Bill Ackman, if a Democrat criticizes him, but when a literal neo-Nazi in his own party attacks him and his family, JD Vance has nothing to say. I don’t think it’s good for him to claim the mantle and be the front runner for the Republicans, no.

“We have no strong feelings on JD Vance,” Pfeiffer joked after his co-host wrapped up.

“I think Rubio is going to run with him. I’ve been hearing this from sources,” Favreau added.

“I heard that speculation from a very good source this week,” Bash said.
