They even put “NO ONE” in all caps for you
Unbelievable meme
GreatBritishMemes is just far left radicals crying in their echo chamber and validating each others whinging 😂
I have a huge problem with the over romanticised glorification of war and how its all about the pomp and ignores the lives ruined by it. A lot of people do. And its nice to have a symbol of that which doesn’t dismiss those who died or come across as combative against fellow remembers. Gammons are all for the glory of it and more happy to wax poetic about it but they forget that millions dying for the politics of a few fat generals is neither glorious or just. We’re too far removed from the effects of war now, few living remember what it was like and the wars we’ve engaged in since have all been at a safe distance to us.
Remembrance day is quickly becoming a pageant and like a holiday, I saw a poppy display the other day strung up with fairy lights, FAIRY LIGHTS! We’re treating it like some bastardised American celebration instead of the sombre time to reflect and honour those fallen it is supposed to be.
When did never forget and never again become replaced by ‘let’s take a picture in front of this memorial and attack anyone who encourages us to question war’?
If a white poppy can stop and make people think about all that then let them be.
The white poppy represents a commitment to peace the red poppy represents blood and remembering the fallen the 2 are not at odds
The only one that mildly annoys me if where people have made the poppy themselves so nothing goes to help any of the various charities which benefit from poppy selling.
Well done for the British Legion speaking out and supporting the colours and reasons!
White poppy user over here. WW2 and WW1 took a massive toll on various societies, and so my version of remembrance is remembering that wider damage. Civilian and military.
I always think when people put poppies on their dog leads, those ought to be purple.
I really don’t get the aggressive poppy thing of the last years, some people just want an excuse to increase their blood pressure, probably getting all angry at nonsense is the only thing that makes them feel alive
I wear a pride poppy.

The angry insistence on wearing poppies really confirms that it’s about unwavering adherence to nationalism, not about memorialising the horrors of the First World War caused by unwavering adherence to nationalism in the first place.
The best thing any of us can do to honour our war dead is to robustly oppose the facism they gave their lives protecting us from. The Venn diagram of poppy police and right wing populists is a circle.
