As a proudly PIGS member I've never met someone from other PIGS to countries to believe that their country is "inferior.."

  1. If you wanna see a nation flip its shit, watch germans react to being mediocre or not at the top with something where they’re used to it. They are not proud and superior because they take superiority for granted and normal.

  2. The chart is SO wrong.

    – Germans not-so-secretly have a not-so-repressed huge superiority complex. The jury is still out if they love or hate their country, usually a mix of both though.

    – Only fools would be tricked into thinking that the Italians see themselves as superior, as a matter of fact it is the exact opposite. They have a massive inferiority complex which they try to overcompensate with a simulated superiority complex, which is a classic coping pattern. But they absolutely see themselves as trash. However they do love their country to death, while criticizing it at every turn.

    – The Brits are hard to place anywhere. They have the typical insecurity of a country that only recently was a major world power and very much used to think it was superior, however saw an abrupt decline since then. They’ll never show it, but insecurity is their modus vivendi and acts both onto the X and Y axis here. The result is quite schizophrenic. Hate/superior at dawn, Love/inferior at noon, love superior at dawn, sometimes all at once. The undertone, however, usually skews towards superior. Some of them prefer to see themselves as a “temporarily embarrassed superior country”

    – I don’t know where the Danes, Swiss and Dutch rank in the love/hate axis, but they are among the most arrogant people on Earth and absolutely see themselves as übersuperior. They belong right of the chart (as in, literally outside of it)

    – France is the complete opposite of what is displayed: akin to England and for similar reasons, we are schizophrenic and oscillating. Despite what you might believe, we are not so sure that our country is so superior anymore, as a matter of fact I’d put us dead center nowadays. HOWEVER we love our country to death.

  3. Hey Hans, why do you think the Kriegsmarine was unable to effectivley blockade the British Isles?

  4. Why did you include Barry’s 19th century art project but not a major european country like Bavaria

  5. Belgium as a nation sucks, but I will not tolerate any slander of the city I’m from!

  6. Too many italians are the most anti-Italy people you will find, too bad. Who made this?

  7. i dont agree with the placement of austria.

austrians will bitch about politicians, laws, institutions, … relentlessly, but as soon as you criticise something the majority likes, they turn into conservative US savages à la “IF YOU HATE AUSTRIA SO MUCH YOU CAN LEAVE NOBODY WILL MISS YOU”.

happened to me twice, once when i said austrians are racist towards people with foreign sounding surnames and then again when i said that i dont enjoy taking a vacation in austria

  8. What´s that flag with the same colours like the German one?

  9. Italy should strongly be on the oposite side on both axis.

No one likes italy as a whole and no one belives it to be superior, the average italian is the butt of many jokes.

  10. We hate ourselves because we know how horrible it must be for the rest of you to know that you aren’t us… 🙁

  11. There is no space down right enough on this map to place Switzerland.

  12. We are superior. Even in our pathetic state now England is the greatest civilisation in human history.

  13. Frenchies love France. What the fuck are you guys smoking? To not be a fucking nationalist prick doesn’t mean to hate your country.

  14. EXCUSE me ? Belgium inferior? I don’t think so, everybody thinks about us (mostly the Dutch actually)

  15. From what I have gathered, it seems like Germans generally expect their country to be best at most statistics nowadays (which is where the superiority complex comes from), but when it comes to a general mild sense of patriotism or appreciation for culture or history, that’s what gets shot down immediately and that’s where the confusion with the inferiority complex comes from.

I’m genuinely not sure, this is just speculation, I’d love the insight of an actual German on this.

  16. There is lots of Lebensraum for Belgium on this official graph. Very reassuring.

  17. Greece usually has the highest % of “we are superior to all other nations” replies in Europe.

Followed by the rest of the Balkans. Lol.

  18. Germans defenetly hate their country (or rather said the state itself) but think they are superior. OP never met a German from the Countryside… they can’t go on without mentioning that Germany or their Bundesland is the best at random specific things every few sentences.

  19. I mean, we are of course superior in our inferiority. Our royal anthem is literally about the time where the king had his eye blown out, which is one of the proudest moments in Danish history.

  20. This is bullshit, I haven’t met a single barry who didn’t have a superiority complex.

  21. Just to clarify guys, we hate our country it is fucking shite here, but it is better then all of yours by a country mile

  22. Should we change “country” to “nation”? I feel like Belgians will feel left out despite being included

  23. Italy would be the 0 of that Cartesians plane, who made this thing

  24. We dont belive we are superior,  we are superior

  25. I hate the damp cold (it fucking sucks), I dislike our stupidly complex bureaucratic systems of governance in every level (I need to contact 6 different agencies just to move a road 2 meters).

I like the free public services (contradictory), I like that we have streamlined annoying tasks with automation and the use of technology (hypocritically).

Kebab pizza w/ fries (a refined food from a superior palette).

  26. Hüh? Just because our coutry is shitty, it doesn’t mean it’s not superiour to yours.
