A bold stance, but one I can wholeheartedly support for once!

  1. Should have called him a fat nonce as well. He clearly doesn’t want any files coming out about that, so he certainly won’t be taking public action.

  2. Somewhere, a BBC intern just earned their tea break with honours and a sarcastic slow clap.

  3. Where is the part that taxpayers will pay the fines? With a smily face

  4. I remember Alexi Sayle telling a story about when he had a tv show they had done a sketch using some Disney property. The had obviously gotten in touch with the BBC to complain and threaten litigation. The BBC lawyer had told him not to worry about it. Her exact words were “ Fuck them we’re the BBC” That should be their attitude to this. The person responsible has been sacked that’s enough.

  5. That’s a funny response sure, but BBC did directly tamper with the interview and frame it in such a way which would make it appear worse than it is.

I don’t like Trump, but I also don’t like the BBC, who are the reason we all pay a tv licence for covering services which we probably don’t use nor want.

  6. I never understood why lying about someone who has shit tons of other dodgy stuff going on. Pick one! Go for it!

Establishments like BBC are the ones that give him his power. The more they play like spoiled nippers more powerful he becomes.

  7. Didn’t they just edit a speech down rather than showing the whole thing? That’s pretty common practice by the media.

  8. People actually standing up for the bbc on this point is insane.

  9. Unreal that people support the BBC with this. If it was the other way round they’d be crying so hard.

  10. Tbf they didn’t have to doctor footage of his speech to make him look bad he does it on his own.

But we can’t just let news outlets like the BBC to purposely splice footage like that. Is it a $1bn mistake certainly not, but it’s amazing how the BBC have spun it to get tax payers to support them and claim its innocent.

I know this meme is just made up, but the BBC won’t even apologise or remove the panorama which they should do at the least.

  11. “The Foundation argued that the BBC was the “mortal enemy” of Conservatives, saying “There are three structural things that the right needs to happen in terms of communications. 1) the undermining of the BBC s credibility; 2) the creation of a Fox News equivalent; 3) the end of the ban on political TV advertising”

  12. The crazy thing is, is that the bbc didn’t have to lie or make stuff up. They could have just let Trump do what Trump does, and chances are he’ll have done or said something stupid soon enough.

Now, however, any integrity the bbc news had is gone. The West are quick enough to bring up propaganda accusations against the likes of Russia, but what the beeb have done is no better. We’re just in the fortunate position to be vocal about it.

$1 billion? Nah, that’s a piss-take Don, but i believe it’s a symbolic amount. Either the threat of that, or someone stepping up to admit they as a publicly funded corporation used their platform to twist facts to suit their narrative.

Coincidentally, i know of another article a few years back that bbc news simply made up to toe the line with the government script. Interestingly, they got pulled up on that, and they hastily re-wrote it. More of a minor story, so there was no repercussions, but it does make you wonder how much it does go on.

  13. The sheer amount of political delusion in this sub is crazyyy. The BBC is ought to be impartial, full stop. Whether you love or hate Trump, the BBC can’t manipulate its viewers like this and then preach about independent and unbiased journalism. Sometimes it’s okay to put your political views aside and stay critical.

  14. Finally a statement the whole board can get behind

Bbc should go full beast mode on him. Klaxons every time he lies. Countdown until 20th Jan 2029. Take the case to court and let him attempt to prove he didn’t incite an insurrection, during which time he incriminates himself and is locked up

  15. P.S. Release the Epstein files, you nonce.

    Regards

    BBC

  16. Why do they only have back bone on demands for a licence fee and backing people like savil and hue Edward’s

  17. Why tf is everyone defending the BBC here? Like yeah we all think Trump is a massive nob, but he BBC did fake that footage and they did it to the Queen too. wtf is wrong with you lot? Do you have no principles or do you just give them up as soon as you have the chance to get one over on some dickhead? Despite the fact you’re then on the side of a bunch of other dickheads… absolute brain rot.

  18. The only reason Trump has jumped on it so hard is because it’s just another distraction from the Epstein files.

  19. They could just show the entire day, from all the various viewpoints, unedited and without commentary, which would actually look much worse for him.

  20. Crazy how many people defend what the BBC did just because they hate Trump. Whatever your thoughts on him, what they did is unforgivable. What else have they twisted and fabricated over the years? No doubt they’ve done a similar thing to someone you actually do like lol

  21. Imagine being a Reform member cheering on Trump calling for him to sue the BBC for even more money knowing full well that as a taxpayer funded organisation the money would come right out of your own pocket

Only chickens for KFC would rival this stupidity

  22. I’m sorry but the people backing the BBC here are the same ones that cry non stop when it’s the other way around.

Have anger towards all false media, no one should be allowed to broadcast lies under the guise of news.

    Fuck them all.

    Left, Right, Centre.

    Fuck.

    Them.

    All.

  23. BBC should counter sue for every time the orange one has talked shit about fake news.

We could fund it for a decade that way.

  24. Trump is awful, but that BBC edit plays right into the hands of his deranged base and was so unnecessary – he has enough non-edit-required tripe out there to implicate himself

  25. Got to love all the people on here who think deliberate corruption by the BBC is a good thing. Trumps an idiot but this should send alarm bells ringing. How many times has this been done deliberately before?????

  26. They did a good piece on the lunchtime news about it. They are currently seeking understanding of the actual accusation and whether it in any way holds up in US court. Currently they say they have no evidence that the modified soundbite was authorised for broadcast in the US and if not, it’s not a viable accusation.

More money for the lawyers of course, but at least they seem to be dealing with it with common sense and not immediately grovelling like paramount and Disney did.
