Seoul Botanic Park has announced the opening of its new seasonal exhibition, Winter Garden, featuring a stunning display of orchids and poinsettias that capture the beauty of the winter season.
The exhibition will run from November 11 to January 25 inside the park’s warm glasshouse, where tropical and Mediterranean plants are joined by elegant orchids and festive poinsettias.
In the Tropical Pavilion, under the theme “Today, Orchid,” visitors can admire over 2,000 orchids across 40 varieties, including rare species such as Oncidium (known as the “Dancing Lady Orchid”), Vanda, and Cattleya, the so-called “Queen of Orchids.”
The garden has also introduced 1,000 new orchids from overseas and created photo zones decorated with floral sculptures.
The Mediterranean Pavilion highlights “The Blessing of Winter,” showcasing nine varieties of Korean-grown poinsettias in an array of colors and shapes.
The central Roman garden features a poinsettia fountain and Christmas-themed displays, offering ideal photo opportunities.
Informational panels help visitors learn more about each variety, from the classic red “Flame” and “Red Elf” to the soft pink “Heidi Pink” and rose-shaped “Red Ball.”
This marks the third collaborative exhibition between Seoul Botanic Park and the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science, designed to promote the quality and recognition of domestically developed poinsettia varieties.
