  7. So this lawsuit won’t get far on British courts, and even if he did win he wouldn’t get much money or even his fees paid.

    The legitimate theat with this ? 

    He delays it long enough for foreign asset farage to take power, farage forces the BBC to settle and he just empties everything into the trump vault.

  10. The comment section always turns in to “what about x, what about y”. Why tf is it so difficult to say “the BBC should not have done that”.

    Nobody here realises just how badly this compromised veneer of unbiased reporting of the BBC, you can tell the intention was to make the line more scary than it actually was. It even had sinister music. And it must have been intended because that video and audio splice was smooth af, if you didn’t know, you’d have gone away thinking that IS what he said. This shouldn’t fly and if they’re getting TV tax money to be unbiased, they should do better.

    Put Trump aside for a moment and swap him for your party leader of choice, does your view on BBC being right/wrong change?

  12. Government shouldn’t get involved – to prove the BBC are independent.
    It will never reach the courts.
    Panorama could air the whole of his speech and then we will all be laughing.
    Panorama would never do a program on Kamala Harris, there wouldn’t be anything to say and it would be boring.

    The BBC will need to stop and change their current ‘impartiality’ model where they have 10,000 experts for something and then find the one crackpot against and give the crackpot the same amount of airtime and coverage as the 10,000 experts.

    It wasn’t right what the BBC did and the edit could have been made better to show the interval but still say the same message.

    At this point Trump needs to do the World a favour and shuffle off his mortal coil, let him take his pal Putin with him for a bonus…👌

  14. I do wonder if it’s possible he can sue. The time limit in florida is two years, so the case is in date. In the UK it’s one year so out of date. Which one counts? Also with what Trump is saying as a presidential role, when do his words become interference?

    Either way, no matter what, the BBC shouldn’t have done it. That guy makes a fool of himself without the need for edits…..

  25. It doesn’t matter if he gets the money or not. The damage is done. They gave him A grade ammunition to discredit the BBC. And to be honest they brought it on themselves. 

    This won’t stop at Trump. Other parties leaders will likely use it to discredit the BBC. It was a massive fuck up even if it was “unintentional”

    The lawsuit doesn’t have to go anywhere for trump to “win”. The BBC just gave him a few weeks worth of talking points about how the news is fake and you can’t trust them.

    As deplorable as trump is. He isn’t wrong here. The BBC did doctor the footage dishonestly
