Jemison Police said they believe ICE arrested between eight and nine people on Tuesday night, Nov. 11, across Chilton County.
Demonstrators claimed ICE agents set up roadblocks across the county on Tuesday with help from other agencies. Protestors accused ICE of arresting people who did not have proper documentation.
The protest took place along U.S. Highway 31 in Jemison near the Piggly Wiggly.

“There was a protest tonight in Jemison. Very peaceful with no incidents. From what I heard and saw it was an anti-ICE protest,” said Jemison Police Chief Shane Fulmer.
WBRC reached out to ICE and received the following reply back:
“In accordance with ICE’s partnership expansion with state and local law enforcement agencies throughout Alabama, on November 11, 2025, Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) supported the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Jemison Police Department (JPD), and Clanton Police Department (CPD) during driver license checkpoints and details within their respective jurisdictions. Eight illegal aliens were detained, multiple with prior illegal entry and one with criminal convictions. ERO manages all aspects of the immigration enforcement process, including the identification, arrest, detention and removal of aliens who are subject to removal or are unlawfully present in the U.S.”
