Lainie Williams was found dead while her 38-year-old mother Rhian Stephens was injured during the incident and treated in hospital.

An 18-year-old man from Newbridge was then arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

  3. Heard about this from my Daughter yesterday. It’s not far from us and absolutely disgusting that a young man chose to end the lives of potentially 2 people over a breakup.

    He took everything away from the girl who from all local sources (take with pinch of salt however) had called Emergency services saying her ex was trying to kill them and they did not attend until a 3rd call saying the girl has probably passed from her injuries.

    Knife crime is an epidemic and we may be making strides to limit it but I’m afraid this battle is going to be a long war. We have to change the perspective of the youth. Proactive policing and maybe stepping up punishments possibly but I dont have a answer and I don’t think there’s a complete answer that would solve it in a short time.

    My thoughts go out to the Family, friends and all those affected by this tragedy.
