A powerful explosion derailed a freight train on Russia’s Trans-Siberian Railway near the settlement of Sosnovka in Khabarovsk Krai, temporarily halting cargo traffic on one of the Kremlin’s most critical logistics routes, according to Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) report on November 13.
According to HUR, the special operation was carried out by Ukraine’s military intelligence service and aimed at disrupting Russian weapons and ammunition deliveries—including shipments reportedly arriving from North Korea.
“As a result of the operation, a freight train was derailed, and the railway track was severely damaged,” the intelligence source said.
The Trans-Siberian Railway is Russia’s main east-west transportation artery, stretching over 9,000 kilometers from Moscow to Vladivostok. It is a vital route for moving military cargo across Russia’s vast territory, including matériel bound for the front lines in Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials shared footage of the operation’s preparation, describing it as part of an ongoing campaign to “dismantle the enemy’s logistics capabilities.” The statement added: “Kremlin security services have once again demonstrated their inability to secure even the most critical infrastructure.”

The HUR source noted that similar sabotage missions will continue as part of a broader effort to disrupt Russian military supply chains. “Work to dismantle the enemy’s logistics continues,” the agency said.
Earlier, a railway section used for Russian military logistics was blown up overnight in the Leningrad region, halting traffic between Pskov and St. Petersburg.
