Why does an 18 year old man get sent to a youth offenders institute and not prison?

  2. AFAIK once he’s 21 then it’s off to prison. Arguably YO is way worse, especially with a charge like that with his face plastered everywhere.

  11. Tbh we do need to bring back the death penalty. And raping children should definitely qualify.

    The younger generations are more in favour of it so I do have hope.

  14. That lad is tapped. YO offenders is a nightmare. Loads of youth wanting to make a name for themselves. He at a minimum be scarred and hurt. At 21 he will go to the nonce wing of a CAT B. It won’t be any better. He’ll live in fear and every inmate will be plotting something.

    It won’t be justice. It won’t make things right. But this monster will have an awful time. So yeah, maybe we’ll take some comfort from that.

    Trouble is he’ll get out. That type of person doesn’t get better, he won’t be fixed. He will always be a danger.

  18. When I was younger, I was feverently against the death penalty. As I’m getting older, I’ve seen so many horrific news stories and heart-breaking accounts from victims that I can feel my opinion changing.

  21. Because in prison someone will do it to him and that would be true justice but noooo couldn’t have that could they. They protect pedophiles for some reason…we all know why….
