Russia’s aerial assault on Ukraine shows no signs of slowing down. Several residential buildings in Zaparisia were targeted in the middle of the night. Not all residents were able to get out in time. A few hours after the attack, some were still terrified. That’s my window, my balcony on the first floor. We were very frightened. I just can’t believe it. We didn’t have time to hide. This is the first time we’ve been affected. There was a very loud explosion around midnight and the glass scattered everywhere. It was so loud it felt like the whole building was collapsing. Further north, the city of Chuyv in the Harkefe region was struck by 17 drones. They hit residential buildings, a school, the post office, and other civilian infrastructure, causing numerous fires and significant material damage. Firefighters worked through the night to try and contain the blazes. It was a busy night for firefighters in Sunumi 2 as they worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames again caused by drone strikes. Similar scenes in the Odessa region where energy infrastructure was also affected overnight. Firefighters were forced to repeatedly suspend their operations and seek safety amid ongoing threats of shelling. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, emergency services are working around the clock to restore power as quickly as possible, wherever needed.

While Russia keeps its ground troops pressing the city of Pokrovsk in the Donbas region – it’s also continuing its campaign of airstrikes across Ukraine. At least four regions were hit by drones in overnight attacks that caused serious damage. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, emergency services are working around the clock to restore power as quickly as possible wherever needed.
