In the third quarter of this year, the number of new business registrations across all sectors of the economy in the European Union (EU) increased by 4 percent compared to the previous quarter. At the same time, the number of bankruptcy applications also increased by 4.4 percent compared to the second quarter.

Modern.az reports that this was stated in the report of the EU Statistical Office (Eurostat).

The highest increase in new business registrations was recorded in the information and communication sector – 6 percent. This sector was followed by construction (5.9 percent) and transport (5.5 percent).

The sectors with the highest number of bankruptcies recorded were accommodation and food services (20.7 percent), transport (18.7 percent), and financial services (14.1 percent). In this category, decreases were observed in the information and communication (4.8 percent), construction (3.1 percent), and industry (0.1 percent) sectors.
