On November 17–18, international defence and security experts will gather in Vilnius for Defending Baltics 2025, a high-level conference dedicated to strengthening NATO’s Eastern Flank and enhancing regional resilience. The event will bring together decision-makers, military leaders, analysts, and defence industry representatives to discuss key lessons from the war in Ukraine and their implications for Baltic regional security.

One of the key panels during this major event will be moderated by Defence24.com Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Aleksander Olech, highlighting the strong Polish expert contribution to the debate on NATO’s Eastern Flank.

Now in its second year, the conference is becoming an important platform for regional defence cooperation. More than 500 participants from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, the United Kingdom and the United States are expected to attend.

The agenda spans a wide range of strategic topics — from the evolving geopolitical situation in the Baltic region, to the role of AI and drones in modern warfare, maritime security, logistics, and the increasing threat of hybrid and sabotage operations targeting Western nations.

European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius, who will open the event, stresses that defending the Baltics means defending Europe:”To prevent war and preserve peace, we must all work together — the Baltic States, Ukraine, the European Union, NATO.”

This year’s Defending Baltics conference stands out as one of the most important security-focused events in the region, shaping strategic thinking on how to strengthen NATO’s Eastern Flank.
