A serious traffic incident occurred during the movement of the motorcade of US Vice President JD Vance in Tennessee, where a security officer was seriously injured.
Officer Justin Brown, part of the team accompanying the vice president during his visit to Maryville, suffered serious injuries after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a Highway Patrol SUV. The incident occurred on the evening of November 14, according to an official statement from the Maryville Police Department.
Witnesses to the incident were the first to come to Brown’s aid, providing first aid until medical personnel arrived. The officer was rushed to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he underwent a delicate operation. He remains in critical condition, according to reports.
“The immediate response of the citizens saved FTO Brown’s life. We cannot thank them enough. They are true heroes,” said Police Chief Tony Jay Crisp.
Meanwhile, American media reports that JD Vance has not yet made a public reaction to the incident. Before the accident, he had appeared on the “Hannity” show on Fox News, where, among other things, he left open the possibility of running for US president after the 2026 midterm elections.
The incident has caused great concern among security forces, while investigations into the full dynamics of the accident continue.
