  1. It’s pretty simple. They had leaders who thought strategically 10 to 15 years ago and invested patiently in their country’s battery and EV industries as well as developing the necessary mineral supply chains for them. The US set off to do the same thing under Biden’s inflation reduction act until the stupid, child molesting fascists destroyed that effort. It requires patience, strategic thinking and thoughtful leadership, something the US may not see for a while.

  2. This is perhaps the one advantage of an authoritarian dictatorship. The CCP can set an agenda that will not be interrupted by their political enemies taking power. As long as the dictator (i.e. Xi Jinping) actually has the interests of the people at heart, it can be a powerful system for progress.*

  3. China is run by engineers. Xi is a chemical engineer, and the 9 top party leaders are also engineers. The US is run by lawyers. To hold top party positions like finance or economics, you have to have the appropriate education to match the role. A tenocracy will always win over an autocratic broken Republic that doesn’t even hide the fact it isn’t a democracy. In the US, parties change, but basically, policies remain in place. In china, the party remains, but policy changes according to needs. China also has direct access to representative proxies for its citizens because your vote is conveyed by someone on your apartment floor or a neighbour in your street. You can directly express your views by discussing with them. This is nearly an impossible feat in most other so-called ” democracies” because of the line of lobbyists blocking the doorway. Critisize China as much as you want for its success, but remember, they planned and worked to achieve their ascendancy. It wasn’t by accident.

  6. We elected Trump so we could race backwards, so it doesn’t matter how far ahead they are. We don’t want to think ahead or focus on the present. We want to go back before there was vaccines, before women could vote and they knew their place, and Black slaves could be raped, beaten, bought, and sold. You know, when White men reigned supreme.
