Dire Mebude’s first-half penalty gave Scotland’s Under-21s victory in their European Championship qualifier against Bulgaria at Fir Park.

Having won in Gibraltar on Saturday, the young Scots earned their third victory of the campaign to move level with the second-placed Czech Republic, albeit having played a game more.

Portugal lead the group, with Scot Gemmill’s side travelling to face them in their final game after hosting the Czechs next.
