Went to the Kurds the other day, paid for my barnet chop by card. English barber still has the “cash only” sign on the front door.
Special guest mention for the tattoo shops….everyone I’ve been to is white Brit/Irish and cash only too.
Reddit is full of boot licking do gooders normal people don’t care if their barber pays tax or not
Turkish barbers seem to be the only ones that accept debit card 😂
At least Turkish/Kurdish barbers don’t make me look like I’m being prepped for cranial surgery

The last two white barbers I’ve been to don’t even accept cash.
Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever met a barber who doesn’t exclusively do cash.
If somewhere only accepts cash no matter who they are I assume they are on the fiddle.

The actual reason for this is because as a business you have to rent a credit card machine, and then the bank takes a small portion of the money from each transaction.
For most small businesses the overhead just isn’t worth the reduced income that comes with it.
It’s not like most tradesmen also don’t avoid tax by asking for cash.
Then aggree to pay by card minimum of between £30-£35 to a cut if you want them to pay a tax?

As a tradesman I’m disgusted to see brown people accepting cash in hand work.
Wait what. No I mean … Disgusted to see anyone accepting cash in hand work. Damn mask almost slipped there.
With the way the UK government is too busy squeezing the middle and lower classes I’m MORE than happy to have 100% of my payment go to the business and its staff.
Saw an expose on black cab drivers – nearly all white. They earned a fortune, never paid tax – and most of them illegally lent the cab out at night to brothers or cousins who then did the same.
I go to a few different barbers depending where I am, such as I’m on my way from work or at home or in the city centre.
I don’t know any who are cash only.
Isn’t this because a lot of barber shops/salons will sometimes have their own staff and also possibly rent out a chair or two to barbers or hairdressers who don’t work for them but want to put a shift in? I don’t know if it’s the right term here but kind of like a freelance barber.
They take cash so they can easily divide it up based on who keeps the money for every haircut.

I love my barber of alternate origin, he can speak fuck all English and I make signs to him about what I want and it’s awesome, I don’t have to pretend to know about football or shit. He has learned to say ‘handsome man now’ which is just right
So many issues with this comment- White barber ?
