  1. He never had it. He’ll be remembered just like Mussolini is remembered: a moron who overestimated the capacity of his corrupt state.

    “I can take Greece”
     – man who can’t take Greece

    “I can take Ukraine”
     – man who can’t take Ukraine

  2. He’ll be remembered as a murderer the leader of a terrorist state and a total failure.

  3. He didn’t lose Ukraine, he lost Finland and Sweden to NATO.

Everything else (the ongoing failure of the Russian military, the socioeconomic catastrophe that will follow all those deaths and destroyed lives, the missed chance to transition from a petroleum-based economy, etc) will be pinned on him in the history books of the future.

But pushing Finland into NATO is the own-goal that’s already a historical fact.

  4. This, honestly, is the least of his problems. He’s the Russian leader currently at risk for ending up like Nicolae CeauÈ™escu, Muammar Gaddafi or Leopoldo Galtieri.

  5. He should worry more about entering Russian history as the man who lost Russia.

  6. Soon he’ll be remembered as the man who lost Russia.

  7. No. They lost Ukraine in the 90’s well before Putin was in charge.

  8. He lost Russia. When he was given power, Russia had the potential to raise its standard of living like Poland. It was a leader in aerospace. A leader in oil and gas. Western Europe had disarmed. Instead he thought like Ivan the Terrible; conquering land is the path to power and glory, anyone who disagrees is a traitor. Another collapse is coming and Putin is to blame.

  9. He will be remembered as the man who destroyed the russian empire for good.

  10. If ONLY he ONLY lost Ukraine. His best move was to keep Europe hooked on his gas while dabbling in hybrid warfare/grey zone tactics. A million or more Russian men will never dig coal or drill oil, never procreate, only be a burden on Russian healthcare, if they’re ever afforded even that. One can only hope that the lesson of the 20th century, the one Putin’s failed to grasp in the 21st, will finally be realized: THE ONLY path to prosperity is trade, and the ONLY result of imperial conquest is defeat.

  11. He never had it

He will be remembered as someone who lost russia

  12. Chances are that right after he dies, he’ll be remembered as an evil fool, then the russians will do their best to pretend he never existed.

  13. “Losing” Ukraine is the least of Russia’s problems due to Putin’s rule. Completely wasted the windfall from the high prices on oil in the 2000’s. Moneys embezzled instead of invested into the diversification of the economy. To this day Russia’s federal budget is pegged to the project price of oil. Russia’s GDP per capita is less than that of the poorest member of EU… Also lost the the European gas market, barely breaking even on the oil, brain drain – exodus of the brighten in 2022… Etc, etc, etc., he sat back his country a few generations back.

  14. Millions of mothers on both side fear losing their children to unnecessary war.

Fuck putin’s feelings about his legacy. He’s going to burn in hell anyways.

  15. He could have been the man who created major trade partnerships and prosperity with russia’s neighbors.

But then probably could not have afforded that 14th yaght with the solid gold toilets so death and destruction it is I guess…

  16. I think it will end up being as the man who lost Russia.

  17. He’ll be remembered as the worst Russian leader before the next terrible Russian leader.

Seriously, what the fuxk is wrong with these people?

  18. I hope he isn’t remembered as the man who lost Ukraine.

Hopefully as the man who lost Russia

  19. You are the leader that will enter Russian history as the man who lost _Russia_.

Day can’t come fast enough, you evil fuck.

  20. Vladdy… The horse left the barn decades ago. You had the chance to bring Russia forward to the modern era and instead you sprinted in the opposite direction.
