Zelensky visits Turkey in a bid to ‘intensify’ peace talks

    Uh, so neither of the important parties are participating, Zelensky is just over there chatting with Turkey for no reason, who has already been happy to host peace talks multiple times, they don’t need convincing. Sounds like the west was meant to show up for another no-Russia “negotiation” charade but then the Ukrainian corruption scandal hit and we backed out.

  2. Personally I think this is less about peace talks and more about just keeping Ukraine in the media and also to verify which side Turkey stands in this conflict.

    I believe the demands on both sides are so far apart and with no room to budge, that peace is not possible.

  3. In 2022 Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would not hold peace talks with Russia while Putin was president, signing a presidential decree declaring negotiations with Putin “impossible”.

    That decree still haven’t been revoked.

    So what peace talks?

  4. This is actually the best choice Ukraine has to save their remaining territory and stop the loss of their troops, however, Russia’s geopolitical strategy may have already shifted again, and they may not be interested in peace anymore.

  5. Just a week ago, Ukraine announced they’re suspending all peace talks due to no progress. Russia shrugged their shoulders.

    Then Umerov all of a sudden says he’s going to Istanbul to restart talks of POWs swaps. Russia said nobody reached out to them about it and nobody from Russia is going there.

    Then all of a sudden Zelensky decides to go there to restart the peace talks, along with Umerov, and Witkoff. Russia once again said nobody reached out to them about it and nobody from Russia is going there.

    Witkoff cancels. Zelensky and Umerov talk to Turkey president.

    What a chain of strange events.
