Hej!
EDIT: Here is the video, at 5:40

P.s. first time mom here, pls don't judge, I'm still figuring out the amount of clothes needed and just want to be ready for our first winter 🫠🙆🏼♀️
I've seen in some YouTube video that some Finnish people use these thermometers that they put in their babies/kid's clothes and then can monitor the inside temp. via phone or a separate monitor to check if baby is not overheated or too cold, especially when left to sleep outside in a stroller. Any suggestions for it? Couldn't find anything similar, only some armpit thermometers but it's not what I want, rather something more simple for overall temp. 🤔
Based or shipping to EU.
Thank you in advance! ❤️

That’s some kind of new fad. You’re supposed to monitor the kid every once in while and not leave the job to a thermometer
Can you share the video? That’s not something common to do really.
We put baby monitors in the stroller when the baby sleeps outside and those also show the temp.
Here is an example: https://www.lastentarvike.fi/for-parents/baby-monitors/padwico-850-black.html
Otherwise kids that run around just get dressed smart for the weather.
Edit: or maybe I misunderstood what you’re after …
Never been a thing in my experience- must be a new fad. Not necessary at all.
Digital multimeter with bluetooth, temperature measurement capability, temperature probe, and a companion app to your smartphone. E.g. Fluke 3000 FC Series Wireless.
I swear there’s cheaper and easier solutions but yes, it can be done.
No we don’t…or maybe the new-helpless parents who don’t know how to build a wooden church without iron nails 😁
Check Ruuvi temperature sensors, they connect with bluetooth to your phone and they are made in Finland.

Never seen it, but I would imagine that something like that would do the trick. Just put the outside part into the pram.
That sounds like absolute nonsense, if you dress your child appropriately then there is no need for this.

every päiväkoti has this guideline, just dress properly and you don’t have to use those awkward devices.

Using something like that is probably not very common but, contrary to some comments in this thread, I don’t really see the harm in it as long as you are not relying solely on the information from the thermometer.
Oh it absolutely is a thing, especially with babies, not so much with the older kids!
But it’s so hard to guess what the temp inside the pram is when there’s layers and layers of clothing, and for us, most of the time the baby was actually over-dressed.
We didn’t have a separate thermometer, but our sound based baby monitor had one integrated. Super practical to place it to the extra space in the infants Kela package overalls so you see that the temp is right next to the sleeping baby.
[Here’s the model we had,](https://www.lastenturva.fi/lapselle/padwico-itkuhalytin-850-valkoinen/p/7391421328860/?srsltid=AfmBOoppTvkCOaU8Eccg9w2Jzw6ncBjvXNwTzpv5aNy4avWLymW5Zy9h#description) but there’s other suppliers too.
You really don’t need this. I know it’s easy to overthink stuff with your first kid but really, don’t worry. The kid will let you know if they’re too cold or too hot and you’ll get used to it.
It’s easier to remove layers. Decent pram sleeping bag thing that’s very thick, a good thick outer suit and normal indoor clothes underneath with a woolly hat has been fine for our newborns. Our first was born during a very cold winter, and we went through all these stages of doubt too.
Baby monitors show temperature
Ok babies have survived winter outings for millenia without bluetooth thermometers, what the heck xD
So many money grabs. As someone who’s pregnant now, that’s 100% not somethibg I would have even considered buying, and I’m a pretty anxious person to begin with xD
I used the bath thermometer that came in the baby box, so no fancy apps or Bluetooth, but it was more for my own peace of mind: I was pretty confident I would be able to dress the baby warm enough, but I had the thermometer and no other use for it, so thought why not and put it in the sleeping bag with the baby (down bag, so warm and toasty, I was occasionally pretty jealous of the baby actually, way fancier than my own blanket in bed…), so I could pull it out and check if I had any doubts about the temp. Never too low, occasionally actually a bit warm if we were stuck in the subway or similar longer than I expected
I used the bath thermometer that I got from äitiyspakkaus (baby box provided by our government). I just tossed it in the stroller and sometimes took a look at it if I was unsure of the temperature, but you learn pretty quickly what keeps your baby warm enough so I didn’t continue to use it for long. It obviously doesn’t measure the babys temp but the strollers but it was enough.
And I have to say to me it was easier to dress a baby in the winter to be warm enough, but the heat in the summer was much harder.
I wouldn’t trust one. You still need to check the kid once in a while.
