  1. Everybody knew this when they voted for Kokoomus and they voted anyway

  2. I blame unions for the same. They keep people out of the job market with collective bargaining.

  3. He, his organization and others like it are a major reason why Finland has made itself completely uncompetitive in many sectors. He is as much to blame as politicians, if not more.

“Saavutetuista eduista ei tingitä,” even if it means losing jobs and entire industries abroad. He and his buddies get paid either way.

  4. What a surprise, not the first big brain take this scientist has let out this year. Some people still wonder why members decrease every year😂

Read Eloranta’s rant about pensions and it truly makes me wonder how mfs walk into that propaganda. Current pension system WILL fail on itself, sooner or later if untouched. Its already a political suicide to take that into conversation but it takes a different kind of rat to keep slamming the hammer while knowing it is true that it needs reworking.

  5. He’s absolutely right.

Middle class people who voted Kokoomus are caught in it too, idiots can’t see past their own noses.

My salary has hardly improved in years yet everything costs more. Even if work is secure, when the employers have all the power because everyone is unemployed, there’s no need to raise salaries when you can just replace people with 2000 candidates applying in earnest.

Not to mention even ‘secure’ jobs are subject to the risk of mass firings because in an economy if a huge chunk of people are doing badly, your company will probably perform poorly too.

  6. Do you think we should increase inequality at the moment?

If yes, vote right. If no, vote left.

It is that simple. When things are really, really good, maybe we could give rich more and poor less, since the less is still more than it was when things were bad. Sometimes it is the answer, the question is: is it NOW the solution? When things aren’t going great, should we give even less to the poor and more to the rich, who aren’t suffering even when things are going bad? They are just doing less well, that is a big difference in the end. So..

Should we increase inequality at this very moment? Vote accordingly but YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SAY IT. If you need to hide saying it, pretend that you are not doing that choice.. then you are voting against your own values. There should never be a moment when you are ashamed of these kind of decisions. So, if you want more inequality, SAY IT. Isn’t it funny how it is not at all difficult for me to say that i want more equality. No one is going to bother to get angry about that. But say the opposite.

And that is what Kokoomus is doing. Every single decision can have “because it increases inequality” at the end. Everyone of them that makes no sense and does not save any money, “because it increases inequality”. Why aren’t they saying it out loud? Because…. it would be a political suicide to say the truth of right wing policies as they would not get a single vote. That is the main problem of right wing, they have to hide what they actually want because it is not popular political message. Instead, they talk about equality from positive angle, want to increase it when it comes to the rhetoric, but not when it comes to practice.

  7. 1. Cut social services

    2. Create unemployment

    3. Wait for people to become destitute enough to accept poverty wages

  8. They are shutting down one of my former workplaces, full of high functioning disabled people and employees.

I am genuinely mourning for all of my former colleagues, and there is no knowing if customers have new supported housing lined up, nor if my colleagues will have work next year.

    It is insane.

  9. Mjup, just learned that starting next year, not showing up to an official meeting or such affects your unemployment benefits straight away. No matter what the reason was. No mistakes allowed. (I made a mistake, didn’t receive the invite, luckily, it’s still 2025…)

    So that’s nice.

  10. There’s this some crazy fight between unions and employers when they should look at the third party. 25% of the amount company spends for employee goes directly to mandatory pension payments, another 20+ to income taxes. Companies need to pay their taxes as well. Then obviously we need to pay ton of taxes for essential things such as housing, transportation, energy, various taxes, VAT for everything etc.

But it’s always companies’ fault it seems. i don’t know from where they are expected to find more and more money to throw into paychecks when a fraction of it translates to actual purchasing power. And proggressive taxation only makes it worse, the raise in salary needs to be really substantial to have an actual effect.

I agree that salaries and purchasing power suck. But we really need to look at how the money is split. Those who do the actual work ( companie and workers) should keep the most of the fruits of labour as well.

  11. Government need to cut their spending by 20% to have balanced budget. They should cut 40% and reduce taxes. That is what helps people to start working.

It doesn’t help anyone that government takes your money and distributes that to people who don’t do shit.

  12. “A business-friendly Finland cannot simultaneously have a hostile immigration policy”
    Enough said..

  13. What about that 750 billion dollars that the EU gave to the southern EU states for free during Corona! now we are paying that off through the EU; the southern states are flourishing; while finland’s economy tanks. It is going to get worse before it gets better. Where is our bailout. The EU is so unfair. Fixit : )

  14. Finland is slowly becoming neoliberal, influenced by US politics.
