The Jags spread out the offense in the second quarter over five different scorers, with Morrison leading the way with another pair of baskets. Fox, Andy McQueeney, Quinn Davis and Maddox Phillips helped Spain Park keep rolling and remain in front on the road.
Hueytown found a bit more success in the second quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Jags, and Spain Park led 24-16 at the halftime break.
Fox dominated in the third quarter with a trio of 3-pointers and 14 points overall during the first eight minutes of the half. McQueeney also hit his first 3-pointer of the night in another strong offensive quarter for the Jags.
Spain Park outscored Hueytown 22-8 to lead 46-24 after the end of the third quarter.
Owen Leonard and Davis finished out the game with 3-pointers as the Jags and Gophers traded baskets down the stretch. In the end, Spain Park finished off the 23-point victory to get back in the win column.
Fox finished with 22 points in just three quarters of action. Morrison earned 12 points, Davis scored nine points and McQueeney posted five points in the win.
The Jags improved to 3-2 overall with the win and will travel to the Oak Mountain Eagles on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. at Oak Mountain High School.
