Weird route for a peace prize….
So much for Trump being the “anti interventionist president”. These months have shown
What we currently are witnessing is not merely jingoism. It may well represent a genuinely new phase in U.S.–Venezuela relations, one that carries real implications for sovereignty, morality, and the projection of power. According to several U.S. officials, the Trump administration is preparing to open a covert front against Nicolás Maduro’s government, weaving military pressure with sly operations. This is being presented as a counter-narcotics effort, but the scale and posture of the deployment suggest aims that extend far beyond that.
The United States has assembled significant naval power in the Caribbean, and officials indicate that the forthcoming actions will not rely on surface vessels alone. Covert operations are expected to form the opening phase of a broader, more aggressive strategy. On the Venezuelan side, Maduro shows no sign of retreating. His government is reportedly planning a decentralized defense posture built around prolonged resistance, using small units, sabotage, and guerrilla-style operations designed to impose persistent costs on any American intervention.
The moral stakes here are obvious. If the United States proceeds with covert operations under the veneer of counter-narcotics enforcement, the line between law-based international conduct and hybrid warfare becomes dangerously blurred. And for Venezuelans themselves, this moment threatens to determine not just the future of a contested government, but the coherence of their national identity and sovereignty.
The risks are substantial. A miscalculation by Washington would unravel a resistance movement far more diffuse and enduring than any conventional engagement. Venezuelan planners are already speaking in the language of asymmetrical struggle rather than conventional defense. In this sense, the “new phase” is not merely operational.
There should be nobel WAR prize as well
Yet another nation is about to fall victim to the violence of the US. Disgusting
