1. Trump said this morning he spoke with him yesterday and that they were going to meet very soon. He was genuinely surprised to hear Boldonaro went to jail instead.

3. Fair play to Brazil. I think it was pretty generous for him to get placed on house arrest in the first place IMO, given all the risk of him absconding.

4. So, either he’s an idiot, or he thought he could escape and is also an idiot.

   I would have thought they’d explained to people on ankle tags that if you play with them, the monitoring station is notified.

5. He was trying to weaken his electronic ankle bracelet with a solder iron.

   The plan was to be able to take it off and disable it more easily at a later moment. He wanted to use a crowd of protestors as his shield to escape to an embassy later that day.

   But he made a mistake and set off the alarm. He is completely useless.
