A Fox News host implied that JD Vance needs to watch his back after a shockingly friendly meeting in the White House between New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani and President Donald Trump.

Trump and Mamdani came face-to-face Friday afternoon after the two had traded jabs over the course of several months. It was an uncharacteristically cordial meeting between the two politicians, who represent opposite sides of the political spectrum.

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade took notice of the peace treaty and claimed that JD Vance might have some stiff competition.

“There you go, that’s what we just watched. I think JD Vance is jealous. I think the president wants to use him as a running mate. They really got along fantastic,” he commented live on air shortly after the press conference ended.

But it seems that JD Vance is not worried at all- he quickly posted about a moment during the meeting where Trump gave Mamdani a lifeline when a reporter asked him if he still stands by his comment saying Trump is a fascist.

“POTUS has a lot of good moments but this is an all-timer,” Vance posted.

Both men described the meeting as productive and said they discussed a number of issues, including immigration, affordability, housing, the Middle East and crime. Many on social media were shocked to see that neither men took the opportunity to take political shots at each other when prompted by reporters to do so.

Both men were asked multiple times about previous comments they’ve made about each other, and each time both the mayor-elect and the president deflected the questions and pivoted back to the productivity of the meeting.

Trump even said at one point that he would feel comfortable living in New York City while Mamdani was mayor.
