Nigel Farage slammed over plot to turn millions into ‘second class citizens’

1. Cutting bennies for immigrants is just the beginning for them. They’re also against the employment rights bill, they’re against the ECHR, they’re against the Human Rights Act 1998.

   These people are the “We didn’t do Brexit hard enough” crowd, even though we know Brexit failed.

3. Guys Nigel isn’t the PM. Can we stop sharing DM and Mirror rag stories and concentrate on now? What is going on now, how we can solve issues we have now. None of this will happen if things are done properly NOW.

   Stop the speculation and start the strategy.

4. Nigel’s always been a great opposition steering government down the path of the majority of the publics choice. That said though, if he ever becomes PM we know Parliament is in the shit.

6. The people Farage wants to remove these benefits from are *not UK citizens*.

   I am not convinced that there are more UK nationals claiming benefits in the EU than vice versa either. Certainly that doesn’t match the net migration between the two jurisdictions generally.

   It was another mad tory concession. Easy votes for Labour here if they sort it.

11. Why does Farage want to do this specifically to EU citizens and not the millions of Indian and African citizens who’ve moved here since his Brexit went through?

12. Surely they are not second class citizens if they are not citizens? Obviously they are citizens of Poland or Portugal or wherever. The Mirror is really stretching that phrase “second class citizens”.

13. Don’t slam him, investigate him and his party for taking bribes from Russia.

    Also funny how the TUC general secretary complaining about this has a Polish surname.

15. He already turned those of us who couldn’t get EU passports into second class citizens, unlike his kids.

16. In addition to jeopardise trade deals with the EU, depriving people from access to benefits would push them into the informal economy – therefore lowering standards for all workers.

    Alternatively they could leave voluntarily or be deported. That would probably lead to the EU applying similar measures on UK citizens living there, including many pensioners – if Farage were to be elected the gloves would be off, it would be a punching match where both sides would be hurt but the UK a lot more so due to sheer size difference.

    I doubt even Farage is that stupid, he would find some way to backtrack just as he did on tax cuts. His fan base doesn’t care if he is remotely coherent
