India has been trying to reduce its reliance on Chinese imports, especially after rising geopolitical tensions and disruptions in global supply chains. Policies like Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and various other schemes aim to promote domestic manufacturing and encourage alternative sources for critical goods.
However, trade data shows that India still imports a significant amount of its electronics, machinery, chemicals, and pharmaceutical raw materials from China. While some diversification is happening through increased imports from countries like Vietnam, Indonesia, and South Korea, a large share of supply chains are still continue to remain dependent on China.

It Takes Time.
Secondly even while India is diversifying its production volume is rising fast. So in absolute terms imports from China are rising.
