There were barely any ‘ancient English’ at all: Anglo-Saxon settlement only really started in the last century of what’s usually considered antiquity (so before a nice round 500 or 476, the end of the Western Roman Empire). There was ancient British art but outside Roman towns it wasn’t especially sophisticated.
