With thunderstorms predicted for the Birmingham area on Tuesday, the Spain Park at Vestavia Hills flag football game has been rescheduled for Wednesday at noon, according to officials at Vestavia Hills High School.
The Jaguars and Rebels are playing in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A/7A state playoff semifinals. The winner will advance to meet the winner of the Smiths Station at No. 1 Central-Phenix City game on Dec. 3 at Protective Stadium in Birmingham.
Vestavia Hills is ranked second in the large-school AL.com Alabama Flag Football Top 10 poll while Spain Park is No. 6. The Rebels are 27-1 and riding a 26-game winning streak – that includes two victories over Spain Park (16-4). Vestavia beat the Jaguars 19-7 on Sept. 2 and 21-18 on Sept. 25.
