The source added that King Charles is “testing the water” to see how well his nieces are received by the public. In the past, the princesses have attended royal garden parties as ambassadors for the family and other overseas events, even though they receive no public money.

According to a source close to the princesses, Beatrice and Eugenie "recognize there is a responsibility to support their uncle and they want to support him.”

  3. I highly doubt that the BRF want anyone associated with Andrew to take a *bigger* role in the near future.

  4. I wouldn’t be shocked if they don’t want to make it seem like they are excluding the daughters based on the behavior of their parents.

  5. I don’t understand why they have royal titles if they don’t do royal work. They are well liked – why not.

  6. Obviously this was part of the deal to get Andrew out of Royal Lodge.

    It makes Charles look like a hypocrite in regards to the supposed stance on half in/half out.

    But the public really wanted Andrew kicked out, so he had to do something to make that happen.

  7. Katie Nicholl and others like her have been repeating this same story since, let me think, the very beginning of Charles’s reign. He has been on the throne for a few years now and nothing of the sort has actually happened. Perhaps they might be invited to one, two or three events, but beyond that, nothing. When we start to see them carrying out proper royal engagements with real weight and directly on behalf of the monarch, then we can talk. Until then, this feels like a reheated version of an old story designed simply to add more noise to the conversation about the two sisters and their position within the wider situation involving their parents 🥱

  9. They’d have to make 100% certain that the two are completely removed from any of their parents’ shady financial wrongdoings before this could be realistically considered. And frankly, it doesn’t sound like either of them were totally in the clear.

  11. I think this is just York pr, every few months they float this, and they have attended garden parties, so have Zara and Peter but they never represented the Monarchy abroad, they just do their shady ME trips representing themselves.

  12. Andrew has been pushing this and Charles has been saying no to it for over 20 years. Why would Charles change his mind now?

  13. Good! They are perfectly positioned to help these ancient working royals. Will and Kate will need loads of help if they maintain their anemic work schedule as king and queen.

  15. They aren’t responsible for what their parents did, but that being said they are a reminder of them and I think this is a very bad idea.

  18. What happens when everyone in your monarchy is +75 and the two that aren’t are known to be lazy. The slim monarchy (like, 2 – 4 popular, working members with appeal) was never going to work with the amount of visibility the BRF needs to survive. Harry’s family was never supposed to leave, so there you go.
