Do you have another dining table or does she want everyone to eat off their laps for a month?
Straight on the naughty list
Crackers every day!! Think of the prizes you’ll collect.
Tell her it’s too early, the dinner table won’t be fresh
Pretend it’s all for St Andrew’s Day?
Off you pop now, shopping for whisky and haggis
Just pretend it’s Christmas day every day and start drinking at 1pm.
Think of all the frozen Easter eggs laying about the garden!
Clear it all off and set up your train set on it.
It’s gonna be dusty by the time Christmas comes around.
And where is the King supposed to sit if he turns up between now and then? At the Christmas table? He’ll not like that.
Is this the main table? My in laws are like this but they have a dining room which is only used for special occasions like Christmas or hosting dinner parties. Their everyday table is in the kitchen
Get those crackers pulled… she’ll be moody, but at least that’s 6 less things on the table to worry about. Get a big Lego set and just start on the table, working around the decorations – she’ll get frustrated and annoyed, sure, but then may decide to put it all away for a month.
Will there be Christmas dinner every night then? Can I pop over for dinner?
Is it to practice pulling the table cloth off without moving/smashing the table wear?
Why though? I understand the trees if you’re really really into Christmas and can’t wait. But why the table settings? What’s her reason for it? Is she otherwise ok?
Has she started cooking the vegetables yet? Gotta make sure they’re cooked for Christmas, at least that’s what my mum says..😅
Looks like it’s going to be a very festive intervention
Those wine glasses are gonna be dusty af by the time Christmas comes, grim
she ok mate?
Won’t it get dusty?
But the dust?
id be demanding full turkey dinner every day if she insists on have the full Christmas table on
The dust.
Taking organised to a whole new level
Does she want to do my table too? Looks fab 👍
Did she put the sprouts on to boil on 01 September as well?
Turkey’s in the oven. Should just about be done in 29 days.
She got to start cooking the sprouts soon. Takes about 4 weeks to get that mushy grey texture
What year’s it for?
Time to start looking for nursing homes
Talk about being prepared 🙄😂
Listen, if it makes her happy, support her.
One day you’ll miss her for the rest of your life, so give her this little piece of joy as an early Christmas present. Tell her it looks great too.
Does she do this every year or is this new behaviour? I know this is a lighthearted post but this kind of extremely early preparation was one of the first signs of my dad’s frontotemporal dementia.
Shit, and I thought I was going too far for putting a few Christmas knick knacks out before the 1st 😳
Guessing you don’t have pets….
I would say now is a great time to adopt an orange kitten.
Nothing like being prepared in advance!
Do you eat at the table everyday? Do you even live at home with her? Maybe she likes Christmas decorations and the way it looks and makes her feel. It’s a month. It’s not hurting anyone.
Mum needs a hobby
I have my Christmas plates and knives and forks out and Christmas table cloth and tea towels santa gravy jug is already in use plus 4 trees up now I refuse to wait till Christmas day to use it
Why’s everyone celebrating Christmas early this year? You’re not even supposed to have the tree set up until Saint Nicholas’ day
It can
I’m going to astonish you now –
I deduce that somebody in your household has some connection with Scotland.
(You know my methods, Watson; apply them!)
Oh good. Dusty plates by Christmas.
Awww she’s excited!
Has she started cooking the sprouts yet?
Your mum: ***it can***
Should slide through the house dancing and singing “Whats This”
