  1. At least they’ll have more compatriots in the USA that feel as they do.

Please don’t bother coming ‘home’, because we would prefer that you didn’t.

  2. Calgary is a shithole, not as bad as Edmonton but close enough, there’s a reason Canadians call Alberta, Canada’s Texas and shit all over it.

  3. Yep I emigrated to Thailand where people like to be called ‘expats’ but call the boat people ‘immigrants’ – it’s a higher status of immigrant it seems, blank stares all round when you ask them to explain the difference!

  4. “I hate immigrants, so I moved to a country with more immigrants” is certainly a take

  5. Immigration is only find when I do it. Don’t you know?

  6. When people talk about immigration they really need to be talking about integration instead

  7. Most Brit’s attitude for immigration is “fine for me but not for thee”

That said, there’s a big difference between legally immigrating and illegally immigrating and claiming asylum because they’d never be able to get in otherwise

  8. I hate it when they move to Spain and come back and use the NHS these morons really confuse me.

  9. Everyone complains about immigration and it’s impact on housing and jobs and loves to blame the boats. When in reality all the immigration from Hong Kong has had a much more detrimental effect on available housing in many areas of the country.

  10. “I would enjoy driving much more if the traffic wasn’t so bad”.

  11. You are worried about immigration in Britain ? have you been to BC lately?

  12. Not to mention Canadians are saying the same thing about people going to Canada.

  13. Canadians I’ve seen are the worst offenders, they complain so much about immigration and I’ve seen them being openly racist and horrible to even people of colour who are british. But like, they’re actively immigrating in the first place lol. How do you develop such a self righteous attitude like bruh

  14. Legal vs illegal

Canada has the right to refuse the migration of they wish, which would be respected. But they actively encourage people to move their from the UK.

Also no one’s complaining about migration from developed, westernized 1st world countries like Canada.

  15. … she was a LEGAL immigrant with the right paperwork and was willing to assimilate. What she is talking about is about illegal immigration and immigrants who come here and don’t want to assimilate and won’t even learn English, refuse to work and are drain on the tax payer 🤷🏻‍♀️

  16. Reminds me of my school friend who moved from the UK to Australia years ago. I noticed him moaning about the ‘state of the UK’ and how ‘reform was the only answer’ on Facebook recently.

I pointed out that the irony of that sentiment coming from someone who had given up on their country to move to another country, one that had been so affected by immigration/colonisation that it had completely changed the land’s racial demographics were just too funny.

He deleted the post and unfriended me.

  17. Yes legally immigrating from a western anglo country to another western anglo country is exactly the same as tens of thousands of unvetted men from backwards barbaric countries in the middle East entering the country illegally.

With this rhetoric and logic reform doesn’t stand a chance I’m sure.

  18. How many children have been raped or murdered by Canadians?

    You can’t be this dense..

  19. To be fair Canada isn’t an open door, you need to have good English, an education and experience in a sector they need people in, not just jump across the channel after going through 18 countries an claim you’re in danger.

  20. This isn’t irony and you know it isn’t. Stop pretending to not understand simple things.

  21. I moved to the UK from Australia 13 year ago and am now planning to move back for various personal reasons (mostly to do with wanting to be closer to family my oldest child requiring support for special educational needs). The number of folks who have assumed we’ve made this decision because the UK has too many immigrants is honestly ridiculous.

  22. Legal immigration v illegal immigration.

Not that I agree with their sentiments, but people act like this take is paradoxical when it’s not really. Most of the legal immigrants I’ve met are against illegal immigration.

  23. They probably mean ‘illegal mass immigration’. Try & get into Canada illegally and I’m not sure what the result would be.

  24. I feel like people are missing the point, it’s legal vs illegal not immigration in general

  25. This is stupid comparison anyway. I did move to Canada for a while. Needed to show I had at least 7 grand in the bank and needed to show proof of accommodation. To get a health care card I needed to show I had a contract of employment. And if you want benefits (ie. Jobseekers) in Canada you only get back what you have put in.

It is a country with opportunities, yes. But it isn’t a country with opportunities of free hand outs like here. Comparing a British person moving to Canada to illegal immigrants moving to the UK is a completely brain dead take.

People that upvote ‘memes’ like this are so dumb.

  26. “IF there’s one thing I hate it’s immigrants” said the English man, sitting outside an English pub in Spain, surrounded completely by English people, drinking shit English beer and eating English food.

Why can’t these people just integrate with their communities when they move abroad?

  27. Wouldnt say its irony when its different from illegally entering a country and going through the process of moving to another country

  28. Not really ironic is it? They aren’t in Canada raping or robbing anyone.

  29. Canada had 2 million immigrants from India / Pakistan compared to 1.1 million in UK. Yes, Canada is much bigger than UK I grant you, but how many immigrants will set up in the hinterlands.
