The top 10 winning designs for Malta’s official Christmas cards have been selected from a competition of submissions from members of active ageing centres across the country.
Some 68 designs for Christmas and New Year cards were submitted throughout the competition, with the winning entries evaluated by a selection board before being professionally printed.
Many of the entries depicted familiar festive images, such as Christmas trees and festive characters, while others took on a distinctly Maltese flavour – featuring traditional houses and Luzzu boats.
The Active Ageing Ministry noted that the selection board “had difficulty choosing the best cards, as the standard was high and the ideas varied”.

Speaking at the results, junior minister Agius Galea said the Minn Qalb l-Anzjani (“from the heart of the elderly”) initiative showcased the “talents, skills and creative spirit that are still strongly present among the elderly”.
The Active Ageing and Community Care (AACC) department said it was considering similar editions elsewhere throughout the year, including Easter.
