Pakistani agencies have re-established 72 terrorist launchpads along the borders that were destroyed by the Indian forces during the ‘Operation Sindoor’. Sixty of these launchpads have been set up near the Line of Control (LoC) and 12 along the International Border (IB), a top BSF officer said on Saturday.
These launchpads were destroyed during the ‘Operation Sindoor’ and have now been re-established at a distance from the borders with India, DIG BSF Vikram Kumar told media persons here.

He said that the launchpads along the IB were in the Sialkot and Zafarwal sectors of Pakistan. However, terror training camps have been established in the LoC area from where attempts are made to push in mixed groups of trained terrorists of various outfits.
Inspector General BSF (Jammu Frontier) Shashank Anand and DIG Vikram Kumar addressed a press conference here in which Anand said that the BSF destroyed as many as 118 Pakistani posts and multiple terror-hideouts and Pakistan has yet to recover from the heavy wounds the operation inflicted.
Should Pakistan or terror groups attempt any misadventure along the LoC or border, the IG said India’s retaliation will be “even stronger and more calibrated”. With upgraded drones, UAVs and surveillance systems, Jammu is more secure than ever, and next year’s priority is zero infiltration, he said.
Speaking about the security scenario, Anand said that India had launched Operation Sindoor strictly to target terror hideouts across the borders after the attack in Pahalgam. “Our operation was directed only at terror infrastructure. However, Pakistan chose to treat it as an act of war”, he said.
Despite intense cross-border firing and heightened tensions, the BSF ensured the safety of civilians in forward areas and thwarted multiple hostile attempts.
BSF Jammu is manning approximately 200 km of the International Border (IB) with Pakistan and is also deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) alongside the Indian Army. The key achievements of BSF Jammu in Operation Sindoor included; foiling a major infiltration bid from Pakistani Village Dhandar opposite Samba and neutralizing 7 terrorists and destruction of three launch pads at Bhaironath, Mastpur, Looni, Anand said.
BSF troops seized 9.563 kg of narcotics and apprehended five drug peddlers during the year and also recovered 5 Drones/UAV, he added.
