Bosnia: Dodik ally wins Republika Srpska election • FRANCE 24 English

Former Republica Serpska President Milad Dodic barred from running again led out his standin candidate Sinisha Karan after Karen won the stateless staff election. The separatist Dodic had been stripped of his powers by a state court and banned from holding office for six years after repeatedly flouting decisions by the high representative for Bosnia Herzgavina. They wanted to remove Dodi in an unfair and purely political court case. And now what they got are two Dodics. The high representative for Bosnia Herzgavina is a position filled by a foreigner tasked with seeing the implementation of the 1995 Dayton agreement in all of the country which is divided into two autonomous entities. The Bosnia Crowat Federation and the Serb Majority Republic of Serpska. Dodic’s victorious ally a former interior minister beat a nationalist drum. Serbian people can endure anything, but they will never tolerate humiliation by foreigners who think they can destroy their will. But the opposition SDS cried foul, saying that their tallies from polling stations around the territory show that their candidate, Branco Belenia, had won. I can say that I am very satisfied with the result I got and I am absolutely certain that without the aforementioned electoral manipulation I would have already been able to declare my election victory this evening a littleknown engineer had previously leveled corruption allegations against the removal of the former president from office had plunged Bosnia which is ruled by a weak central administration into its most critical crisis since the end of the war in 1995.

In Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sinisa Karan, an ally of deposed president Milorad Dodik, won a snap presidential election in Republika Srpska, the Serb-majority autonomous entity of the country. Karan received 50.89% of the vote, defeating opposition candidate Branko Blanusa, though the opposition alleges fraud. He will serve only until next October’s regular election.
