Belarus has taken a new step towards strengthening its partnership with Myanmar, with the President of Belarus approving three draft intergovernmental agreements as the basis for upcoming negotiations. The initiatives aim to expand mobility, improve economic cooperation, and reinforce institutional links between the two countries. This is reported by
BelTA, a partner of TV BRICS.

The draft agreement on visa exemption would allow Belarusian citizens to enter, exit and transit through Myanmar without a visa for stays of up to 30 days at a time, and no more than 90 days within a calendar year.

Another proposal outlines mechanisms for cooperation and mutual assistance between the customs authorities of both states. The document is designed to streamline procedures, facilitate trade, and improve coordination in customs matters.

A third draft agreement sets out provisions to eliminate double taxation on income. It also establishes rules for information exchange between the competent authorities of both sides, helping prevent tax evasion and reducing the fiscal burden on residents engaged in cross-border economic activity.

Cooperation has also expanded in the health sector. During a bilateral business forum in Yangon, the two countries signed a memorandum on healthcare collaboration, building on several high-level visits from Myanmar to Belarus earlier in 2025. The discussions focused on joint initiatives, including pharmaceutical cooperation and broader humanitarian and economic projects.

Officials noted that Belarus and Myanmar continue to develop regular institutional contacts and are steadily deepening their mutually beneficial partnership, with an emphasis on improving the well-being of citizens in both nations.
